Below, you will find two different styles depicted in my Chinese painting. The first ones depict the style called Shui-mo which is very fluid and flowing. In fact, “shui” means water and “mo” means ink. This is one of the best descriptions of this style of painting that I have ever heard.
“The smooth, flowing brushwork is the result of a lightly but expertly held brush dancing across the paper in a fluid and almost carefree way.” It takes a lifetime to perfect this style even though the result may seem simplistic.” This quote is credited to, peoplesartshop.com.

Gong-bi is a meticulous style of painting and is considered more formal. In fact it is referred to as a “court style” of painting. After fine lines are drawn, masters of the art form may apply many layers of ink and color. It is evident why it is called “meticulous painting”
